JUNIOR SECONDARY - YEARS 7 & 8
We ensure that our Junior Secondary & Secondary students are engaged in the learning by developing units that are age-equivalent to same age peers but also engaging using students interests and learning styles.
Teachers collaborate to write units that take into consideration the students age and curriculum levels. Students access the learning via HICPs or Different Year Level – Partial which includes summative assessments at the end of each term.
SECONDARY - YEARS 9 & 10
At Mackenzie State Special School, Year 10 students begin their transition into the senior sector of the school by engaging with the Australian Curriculum subjects: English, Maths, Science and History.
In addition, they start preparing for life after school by participating in electives, which include work training and leisure pursuits such as Coffee Shop, Manual Arts, Drama and more.
